Our Story



Jack’s Chowhound was one of the first few food trucks to cruise around Dallas.  This lead the way for a plethora of other trucks to follow suit.  Since its doors opened in Spring 2011, local foodies have feasted on gourmet comfort food like our Italian pepperoni sandwich, the best burgers in the area as well as our claim to fame, the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich.


After spending time in Los Angeles, owner and operator Jack Mooney fell in love with the flexibility of food trucks.  Food can be served anywhere, anytime and menu’s can change with the locale.  Armed with his passion to cook, his love of all things Texas, and his drive to own his own business Jack determined that owning and operating his own food truck was the way to go.  After many months of hard work on menus, suppliers, recipes, permits, licenses as well as finding the right truck, finally, Jack shares his enthusiasm with others, by bringing this new trend to the Dallas scene. It is his passion to provide “On the Scene, Mean Cusine.”


Jack’s Chowhound currently cruises the streets of Dallas along with holding permits in Tarrant County, Fort Worth and Grapevine. Our services include local sites, private parties and catering events. Come let us satisfy your appetite!
